Privacy Policy
PBM Technologies, a division of Professional Brand Management ("PBM", "we"), makes software for brands, rep groups, distributors and independent stores: PBM Field, PBM Insights, PBM Shows, PBM Rewards, PBM Connect and PBM Studio. This policy explains what data we handle and how.
Who our products are for
Our products are business tools. Accounts are created by invitation from a business customer (a "workspace"), such as a brand or rep group. That business decides who gets access and what they can see.
What we collect
- Account details: name, work email and sign-in records for people invited to a workspace.
- Business data a workspace adds: stores, items, prices, promotions, orders, visit notes, shelf photos and follow-ups.
- Sales data: distributor and store sales reports a brand authorizes us to receive, and item-level sales from store registers connected through PBM Connect.
- Website requests: what you choose to send us through a demo request.
PBM Connect reads item sales only. We do not collect a store's shopper names, payment card details or purchase histories. When a store sends coupons to its own customers through our products, the store keeps its customer list and the email goes out in the store's name.
How we use it
- To run the products for the workspace that owns the data, including reports, scorecards and order delivery to tools like Slack when a workspace turns that on.
- To match stores and items across sales reports so each brand sees only its own items.
- To support and secure the service, and to bill business customers.
- To build category benchmarks from combined, anonymized sales data, only where a store or brand has agreed, and never in a form that identifies a single store, brand or person.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use customer data to advertise to anyone.
Who can see what
Each workspace's data is kept separate. A brand sees its own items and the stores that buy them. A rep group sees a brand's sales only after that brand approves it. Reps see only the brands and accounts assigned to them. These permissions are checked on every request.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the service: Render (application hosting and database), Clerk (sign-in), Cloudflare (photo and file storage), Google Workspace (email), Wix (this website) and, when a workspace enables it, Slack. They process data only to provide their service to us.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Photos and files are private and only shown to signed-in users with permission. Slack webhook addresses are stored encrypted. Sign-in is handled by Clerk and supports Google sign-in and verified email.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep a workspace's data while it is a customer. A workspace admin can ask us to export or delete its data, and individual users can ask us to delete their account, by emailing us. We remove deleted data from active systems promptly and from backups as they expire.
